Proverb

A woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.
Give her the product of her hands,
And let her works praise her in the gates." (Proverbs 31:30b-31, NASV)

Not a Fan - Follower's Journal

Our Small Group has recently started a new study in the devotional series Not a Fan by Kyle Idleman of Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, KY. For a little over a week now, I have been working through the "Follower's Journal," contemplating the three daily prompts and writing down my answers. For me, the act of writing in a journal is something I am reluctant to do, largely because I spent so much time of my unsaved youth (especially during high school) wallowing in journals, crying about this and that, whining over petty meaningless stuff that perpetuated nothing but self-doubt and self-pity. Needless to say, I now approach journal writing with hesitation.

But I am making the effort to do it, and I will say that so far it's been all right. There was one particular prompt that I really enjoyed and wanted to share with you:

Imagine Jesus praying over you like a parent would a child. What might He say?

As I thought about this, I imagined a parent tucking his child into bed, praying over her that her life, as she leads it day by day, would be great - filled with wonder and blessings and love for God. You see, I see Jesus as my guardian, my watchman, my protector and Savior; I hear him speaking a gentle whisper, saying to me, "Let it be, sweet Kimberly. And bear it not - for it already borne. It is forgiven and forgotten with Me, let it be that way with you too, for you are dearly loved." And that whisper fills my heart with the greatest joy.

Always,
Kimberly

    1. Thank you, Anna! :) That's what I hope to do with this blog - write about my journey with the Lord. I was so lost for so long that it's important to make these new years count. I love you too, sweetie.
